Chief Operating Officer
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Role reports directly to the CEO. Works collaboratively with the CEO and leadership team to plan organizations operational strategy and is then responsible for its execution
- Responsible for leading, managing, and building (through recruiting, mentoring/coaching) a world class, high performance team
- Overall responsibility for operational execution, including Manufacturing Operations, Engineering (including Product and Process), and Sales
- Execution of organizations vision
- Running day to day operations, including management meetings and 1 on 1s
- Serving as a role model for the culture everyday
- Responsible for implementing and achieving KPIs pertaining to Organizational performance
- Responsible for Operational systems implementation and execution
- Driving and leading organization communication: establishing frequent communication updates (such as townhalls) to ensure organization is aligned and people understand the why

- Responsible for execution of goals in manufacturing, engineering, & sales. Business development will report to CEO
- Create and implement cultural changes via lean enterprise system, based on Shingo Model
- Create continuous improvement culture and learning organization as described in Toyota Kata: focused on development of great people
- Achieve target margins and improve cash flow to agreed upon target
- Succession planning for jointly identified key roles
- Talent development pipeline running and delivering results
- Support with validating growth opportunities and degree of pivot with CEO and leadership team
- Key processes documented and implemented for world class operations as we scale

Ideal Experience
- History of achieving impressive results as leader and coach of others
- Operational systems implementation and execution experience
- Leading operations for manufacturing organizations
- Engineering experience, including leadership of both product and process development (LPPD)
- History of strong customer relationships
- Strong working knowledge of TPS and/or Shingo Model
- Prior experience as a successful change agent
- Experience in high volume production
- Enjoys and is active on the manufacturing floor
- Possesses mechanical aptitude, and is a demonstrated problem solver
- Global automotive industry experience, including familiarity with customer expectations, systems, and standards
- P&L experience
- ERP and MES implementation experience
- High growth experience in dynamic environment
- Prior experience with developing and implementing processes
