Job Description:

The Vice President of Sales and Marketing develops the vision, implements annual plans and goals to move the company toward increased sales and greater brand recognition. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience. The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will have the ability to provide oversight and guidance to the sales, business development, product management, marketing, customer service and contract administration teams. The Vice President of Sales and Marketing is responsible for delivering measurable results that achieve and exceed sales goals and targets. The individual in this role is expected to work as part of the leadership team and be capable of contributing meaningful insight to the overall strategic development of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Executive Management team in developing goals, strategies and operational leadership to the company.
  • Provides leadership in the development of short and long term strategic objectives and goals with sales, marketing, production management, customer service and contract administration departments.
  • Effectively oversees and supports the functions of marketing, sales, customer service and contract administration to ensure performance is on track to achieve profit and growth objectives.
  • Leads the Business Development team through the oversight and support of contract administration.
  • Develops and expands customer service capabilities through team development, training, and technical resources.
  • Leads with compelling strategic vision that is in alignment with the organization’s short and long-term goals.
  • Develops the overall Marketing and Sales strategy for achieving targeted sales and profitability levels in existing domestic and international markets.
  • Constructs sales objectives, plans and forecasts based on market analysis and business trend analyses to increase market share and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Increases our sales in the global commercial market through product positioning.
  • Maintains key customer relationships and develops and implements strategies for expanding the Company’s customer base.
  • Establishes marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Works closely with production operations to coordinate realistic sales forecasts.
  • Builds and expands the present capabilities of the Sales and Marketing functions to the levels needed to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of high volume commercial sales worldwide including dealers, distributors, OEM, and Big Box stores.
  • Collaborates with Research and Development Engineering team to optimize results from market analysis to assist in the launch of innovative new products in support of customer requirements.
  • Oversees the Product Management group in the development of the present and future product roadmaps to outline the strategic product direction
  • Assists the Product Management and R&D teams with accessing critical time-to-market vs. new feature tradeoff decisions via development of design specifications.
  • In coordination with leadership team establishes pricing, business models, product naming and organization.
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, video, social media, web branding, and direct mail.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Analyzes the strategic positioning of products for potential investments, mergers and acquisitions.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing or applicable Business Degree; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with substantial experience growing sales in the commercial market on a global scale
  • 10+ years experience in creating market awareness and brand promotion in a management role
  • Experience and/or knowledge in outdoor commercial products
  • Experience with specific sales funnel management and structuring sales quota and revenue expectations
  • Experience with multiple channel selling
  • Experience in working with an outsourced partnering model
  • Experience working with ERP systems, SAP a plus
  • Experience in merger assessment and strategies.
  • ISO 9000 experience a plus

  • Experience establishing effective programs that result in increased sales.
  • Demonstrated in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles.

Ability to apply common sense understanding, follow detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete standardized situations.
