Vice President of Engineering
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vice President of Engineering who will report directly to the CEO. This role will manage and optimize all aspects of our companies’ technology, ensuring the efficient operation of our current infrastructure while planning for scalability and future growth. The ideal candidate will have experience leading technical teams and will be ready to step into the CTO role as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership: Oversee the development and execution of the technology roadmap, ensuring that current technology efforts align with business objectives while preparing for future needs.
Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Transition from a hands-on role to a strategic coach as the team matures.
Platform Management: Manage and optimize our systems IT infrastructure, ensuring that systems are secure, scalable, and efficient.
Risk & Security Management: Identify and mitigate technological risks, with an emphasis on data security, system scalability, and operational continuity.
Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the CEO and other executives to align technology efforts with company goals, while transitioning into a more strategic role as the company grows.
Innovation and Product Development: Lead the development of new products and services, ensuring the technology team is proactive in staying ahead of industry trends.
Budget Oversight: Manage the technology budget and make cost-effective decisions regarding technology investments.
Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure they meet operational and strategic needs.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a VP of Engineering, Director of Technology, or in a similar senior technical leadership role.
2. Strong background in platform development, system architecture, and payment processing technologies.
3. Experience in fintech, gift card systems, or e-commerce platforms preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage operations while developing leadership capacity.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
