Vice President of Human Resources

Reporting directly to the President of this $900M company, you will be responsible for the global implementation and oversite of all Human Resource related activities.  With 8 locations across the globe you will have a team of 12 direct reports and full P&L responsibility for your area.

What you would be doing here:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization’s human resource function and performance
  • Participates in the development of the organization’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people
  • Evaluates the HR division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains knowledge of national HR policies, programs, laws and issues
  • Manages the budget and other financial measures of the HR department
  • Enhances and/or develops, implements and enforces HR policies and procedures of the organization
  • Oversee that we are in compliance with current regulations, federal and state laws, and ensure the policies and procedures are practiced consistently across the company
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure best practices are implemented for the Paychex systems as well as ensuring the fiduciary duties of the 401k plan are met
  • Lead the strategy and management of the benefits process through evaluating vendors and negotiating renewal process. Creates the highest value of benefits for the company and employee
  • Must be able to work closely with the Legal Compliance on labor and legal issues that arise in the course of business
  • Needs to be proficient in worker’s compensation coding, claims and practices
  • Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the organization’s HRIS (Paychex); including all new hires, terminations, site changes, monetary changes, supervisor changes, etc.
  • Work strategically with executive leadership team to set company policies
  • Ensures the company handbook is always up to date and that all employees comply with the company policies
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on employee relations issues related to FMLA, Workers Comp and other benefits inquires

What you bring to the table:

  • Masters’ degree or equivalent preferred
  • 10 years of relevant experience and/or training
  • Able to quickly develop trustworthy relationships and maintain those relationships
  • Highly-organized and detail-organized with strong time-management skills
  • Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Hands-on management of the team & ability to roll up sleeves to solve problems
