Vice President of Safety
We are an award winning international organization who has been experiencing tremendous growth. We are looking for an experienced and seasoned executive to lead our Safety department on a global basis. The position includes managing the current staff of 18 Safety Engineers, Safety Managers, etc. This person will report to the Global VP of Operations.
General Responsibilities: *This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and will be the lead executive in charge of our safety program, including the strategic direction of our safety process. * This position will have overall management responsibility for a total of 18 full time salaried employees and will ensure their continued development goals are established and met and that they continue to provide value to the organization. * This position requires a thorough understanding of OSHA manufacturing standards, including training, PPE, etc. *This position will operate in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Requirements: * At least 20 years of experience in safety and at least 10 years in a senior management role. * Strong management skills with a successful track record of leading and managing change initiatives. Exceptional communications skills are essential. * A bachelor’s degree in safety.
Personal Characteristics: * Above average critical thinking aptitude with ability to think and plan strategically and implement appropriately. *Superior communication and interpersonal skills and ability to partner with the executive team, group leaders, project managers, and the field workforce. *Excellent personal organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and direct the flow of multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. *Must be an accomplished self-starter who is comfortable accepting responsibility for successfully achieving personal, group and organizational objectives. *Must possess excellent customer service orientation with a commitment to client satisfaction. *This person should thrive in a team-oriented environment and must be a person of unquestionable character and background whose personal values and management style are compatible with company culture.
Performance Measures:: *Lead the effort regarding the strategic direction of our safety program. *Identify gaps in our process and effectively communicate and lead the improvements that need to be made. *Provide guidance to and oversight of the existing safety team members.
